Mary Mortem
Posting old photos all year got me itching to get back into concert photography a little more seriously than just bringing a shitty Lomo film camera to shows and hoping something turns out, even though I've had some very fun results with that method. So last month, after two years of almost exclusively using point-and-shoot plastic film cameras, I picked up a Fuji X-T5, a couple 3rd party lenses, and a handful of Chinese knock-offs of the fancy lens filters that are incessantly advertised to me on Instagram. This show, featuring Mary Mortem and Slowhole, was my first attempt at capturing some moments with the new gear. I've attempted to maintain a film mentality and vibe, though, with minimal editing and consistent color-grading throughout each set. The kaleidoscope effect was made with a rotatable lens filter and the pretty candlelight halos are from a (gold) diffusion filter that I'll just keep on this particular lens at all times.
